About Us
Founded in 1990 by a group of enthusiasts dedicated to the promotion of motorcycle track racing. Having started with nothing, several founder members donated essential equipment, jumble sales and similar were organised to amass funds for the club to operate and there it all began.
Club Chairman since that time - Reg Blackbourn - has raced sidecars for longer than he dares to calculate and is still racing - and winning. His son Colin, once passenger to Reg, now races his own outfit with a great deal of success at national level.
It would be impossible to list all those involved in organising events but a small band of committed enthusiasts are there in all weathers setting out tracks.
Starting with small club events and assisting the ACU to organise a track racing race events at the British Motorcycle Grand Prix at Donington Park, the club gained experience, knowledge and expertise and ran our first national - The Best pairs.
This was a success and the Lincolnshire Poacher was born - our regular National status meeting.
These meetings attracted better and better riders and in 1996 the club ran the British Masters qualifier event, the first in the trio of meetings that comprised the British Masters Championship.
The following year the club ran the first round proper on the 10th August - a very successful meeting and also the Poacher was held on 21st September. The Poacher is now regularly held on August bank holiday sunday.
